William W. Tollefsen, MD, M.Sc.
Dr. Tollefsen is a Fellow in Emergency Medical Services and Critical Care Transport at the University of Massachusetts. He is also an attending physician at UMASS Memorial Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital and a Flight Physician for UMASS LifeFlight. Dr. Tollefsen graduated from New York Medical College and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Harvard University at Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals. He completed a Masters of Medical Science degree at Boston University School of Medicine and is currently completing an MBA at the Isenberg School of Management at UMASS Amherst.
Dr. Tollefsen is currently an instructor of Emergency Medicine at UMASS Medical School and Associate Medical Director of UMASS LifeFlight and Worcester EMS. A former pre-hospital provider, he is actively involved in EMS system design, Paramedic education and Critical Care Transport Systems. He works closely with multiple EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement agencies throughout Massachusetts. His Research Interests include: Resuscitation, Airway Management and Paramedic Education.
